The access to the hut is possible both from the Piemonte side of the Gran Paradiso National Park, through the road that can be followed by car from Ceresole Reale, and from the Valle d'Aosta side, through the walking itinerary that starts from Pont in Valsavarenche.

From Piemonte side:
it is recommended to set your navigator to "Ceresole Reale". From the Piemonte side it is possible to reach us through a road that climbs from Ceresole Reale and leads to Nivolet (19 km). From Ceresole the road passes Villa, crosses a gorge dug by the Orco river and goes down to Chiapili di Sotto. From here begins the climb towards Chiapili di Sopra and the Serrù and Agnel lakes. Some hairpin bends lead to Colle del Nivolet (2612 m) and finally a short descent on the Valle d'Aosta side leads to the Nivolet lakes and Rifugio Savoia (2534 m). 

From Valle d'Aosta side:
it is recommended to set the navigator to "Valsavarenche". The pedestrian itinerary starts from Pont (1960 m), a village of Valsavarenche, and it is a hike suitable for all types of walkers, also with children of all ages (590 meters of elevation gain; about 4.30 h roundtrip, "E" difficulty). From the parking of Pont, take the trail that begins next to a chapel (trail markers n. 11a, 12, 13 and Alta Via n. 4). It begins with a winding ascent in the woods, up to the Croce dell'Aroley (2310 m). Once passed the Cross, keep to the left of the torrent, following the trail that leads to the highland. From here you cross the entire valley and reach Pian del Nivolet, where the Savoie hut (2534 m.) is located next to the lower Nivolet lake.
